Todays walk is 15 minutes along the waterfront. The walk is about 1/2 mile (roundtrip) with walking terrain being level, and paved sidewalks. You will find amenities like parking and restrooms. Highlights during your walk include, Marina Beach, Port of Edmonds, Olympic Beach, Brackett’s Landing South & North.

About Pacific Little League

Overview Pacific Little League was founded in 1965. This little league is now the home for more than 800 boys and girls playing baseball and softball between the ages of 5-18.Pacific Little League operates under the National Little League rules and guidelines, and has made only slight modifications to some of the playing rules in an attempt to enhance the playing experience for our children. The following is an excerpt from the National Little League organization: “Little League Baseball and Softball is a program of service to youth. It is geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training under good leadership in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation. The movement is dedicated to helping children become good and decent citizens. It strives to inspire them with a goal and to enrich their lives toward the day when they must take their places in the world. It establishes for them rudiments of teamwork and fair play.” History Pacific Little League became a charter program in the National Little League organization in 1965. Since then, Pacific, a volunteer-based organization, has provided services to over 20,000 boys and girls in the greater Edmonds/Lynnwood area, with an estimated impact on 10,000 families. Pacific has forged successful partnerships with the Cities of Edmonds and Lynnwood, along with the Edmonds School District. League Structure Pacific Little League has baseball teams, girls softball teams, and a newly formed “Challengers” league specifically designed for children with physical or mental restrictions. Gloria Allison is the owner of Glorious Treasures, an antiques and collectibles store in Edmonds, Firdale Village area. She moved here around 2004 after she lost her lease in downtown Edmonds. Since moving to Firdale Village Gloria has out grown her space and acquired the space next door. You want antiques, this is the store you need to go to. Day 140 of 365 Things To Do In Edmonds, WA – Bud’s Bait House (Port of Edmonds)

 

I enjoyed my visit with Bud at the Bait House. He has a lot to talk about since he’s been the owner and operator for over 50 years. We talked about the different bait houses he’s had and his many locations. As the Port grew and developed so did the location of the Bait House. Stop by to see old pictures on the wall, you’ll go back in time. Ask about the live fish bait (only during fishing season). Grab a cold beverage and a few snacks while you visit. You can watch boats get lifted into the water and walk around the walkway. Be careful, no handrails. Bud reminded me that the waters are really cold if you fall in.

Our goal is to make Edmonds a better and safer place to live through programs designed to enhance public safety using community partnerships and citizen outreach.

Public Safety Modern public safety demands require that police departments be better trained, better equipped, and
more in touch with the specific needs of their communities than ever before. While these requirements have
increased with concerns such as terrorism and school violence, tax dollars only provide the basic necessities.
The Foundation is dedicated to providing our police force with the most modern equipment, technology and
training.

Citizen Outreach The Foundation seeks to create a culture of opportunities for community members to enhance their awareness of public safety and crime prevention issues. This is done with outreach programs, public events

 Size:   7.48 Acres

 Status:  Special Use Area

 Existing Facilities:   Parking, natural trails, wetland habitat, picnicking

 Planned Improvements:   County annual maintenance by Snohomish County Parks Department

I’ve driven passed this park for 7 years and had no idea that this park was here. There’s no sign at the entrance, it’s just south of 220th & 84th Ave.  You come into a small paved parking lot so stop by to enjoy the ducks, picnic table and surroundings.

Day 136 of 365 Things To Do In Edmonds, WA – Cascade Symphony Orchestra

 

The Cascade Symphony Orchestra, a community orchestra, was founded in 1963 and performs 6 concerts a year. There are several original members still performing today. For more details visit Cascade Symphony

On January 24, Cascade Symphony and Music Director Michael Miropolsky will continue the orchestra’s 49th season with ”Romeo and Juliet”. The concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts at 410 4th Ave. In addition, the orchestra will present a Children’s Concert at 3 p.m. on February 26, and small ensemble performances on April 10 and April 15.

 Comments:  Beautiful neighborhood park in residential area. Located along the old Interurban Trolley Rail system.
