Skatepark opened Spring 2007 at a total cost of $338,916.00 for a 5,400 sq. ft. skatepark.

Day 320 of 365 Things To Do In Edmonds, WA – EDMONDS OUTDOOR MOVIE NITES

The last Friday night in July and the first Friday night in August.

Join everyone at the Frances Anderson Center Playfield for a free, family night of movie entertainment.  Bring your blanket or lawn chair to watch a blockbuster hit on a giant inflatable screen!  The movie begins at dusk.  Refreshments will be sold.

Day 319 of 365 Things To Do In Edmonds, WA – Yost Park Pool (Edmonds Parks Department)

 

 

Situated at 9535 Bowdoin Way, Edmonds, the pool is the only swimming pool the city operates. It’s open Mon-Fri 6AM-6:30PM and Sat through Sun 9:30AM – 3:20PM.

This swimming season, Yost Pool will roll out new programs, including Aqua Zumba, Pool Play for ages 6 and under, Pirate Camp, Swim Party, and Family Swim. The pool charges Edmonds residents and non-residents different prices for its various programs.

Swim Party is a new service for groups of up to 15 people. The package includes a room rental and a public swim. Pool Party, on the other hand, is for large groups of up to 100, and features the exclusive use of the pool.

Todd Cort, Recreation Coordinator for Edmonds Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services, said that there are few differences between lap and public swims at Yost. Having been in operation for the past 39 years, Yost Pool got its name from the Yost family, who donated the property to the city.

Meet Edmonds police and fire officials, the K-9 Unit, SWAT Unit, public safety agencies from South Snohomish County, local businesses and non-profit organizations.

Check out up close emergencies vehicles, the SWAT Unit’s bus, the K-9 unit police car and the always popular fire truck!

Celebrating the beauty, history and people of Edmonds with artscapes throughout the city.

The Edmonds Mural Society has chosen five murals to raise summer 2011. This is one of them called “The Brothers” by Andy Eccleshall.

Andy Eccleshall began his fine art studies in his native England and flourished in his new home of the United States, principally the Pacific Northwest.  Featured in numerous media  publications for his ground-breaking work in murals, Eccleshall is muralist, illustrator, painter, historian, and entrepreneur.  He currently lives with his wife and children in Edmonds, Washington also where he on The Edmonds Historic Preservation Commission.  Andy’s work may be found at muralworks.com.

Day 316 of 365 Things To Do In Edmonds, WA – Historic Cemetery “walk back in time”

Historic Cemetery “walk back in time” open house is held on the third Thursday of July. This event is free and held at the cemetery. It’s a day of costume’s and history about our Edmonds cemetery.

Historic Cemetery Walking Tour

The Edmonds Memorial Cemetery & Columbarium was placed on the Washington State Register of Historic Places in 1972. This cemetery is the resting place of many Edmonds pioneers, mayors and veterans from 6 different wars. The walking tour will help you learn about the history of the people that molded Edmonds into the kind of town that it is today. The historic cemetery walking tour can be a guided tour or done on your own.

ARTSplash is a four-day art show exhibiting original art by established and emerging artists. Nearly 50 artists display original art across a broad range of styles and mediums from painting, printmaking, and photography to clay, fiber, and jewelry.

The show will include on-site artists demonstrating their creative talents. Art lovers can enjoy award-winning work as well as works of new, never-before-seen art at the annual July show at ArtWorks.
